Bradley Grant Smith is a Chicago-based writer, director, actor, and musician from Highland Park, Il. Here he is looking glum. His music (as Sad Brad Smith) has been praised by the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, and the Chicago Tribune, and his song, “Help Yourself,” was featured prominently in the Oscar-nominated film, Up in the Air, starring George Clooney. A graduate of the Theatre School at DePaul University (formerly the Goodman School of Drama) with a BFA in Acting, Brad has appeared on-screen for directors Harold Ramis, Bob Odenkirk, Marc Foster, Alex Thompson, and Kelly O’Sullivan. Our Father, his feature film debut (as writer/director), was nominated for the Grand Jury Award for Narrative Feature at the South by Southwest film festival (SXSW) in 2021. Theatre credits include Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Goodman Theatre, Writers Theatre, Jackalope Theatre, among others. Of his long-winded statement meant for this space, I care only to share this brief, palatable crumb: "I write what I can, draw when I'm bored, and act when I'm able and desired." - Bradley Grant Smith
